Designer Simon Hasan (1973) is interested in using craft techniques in contemporary design objects. He aims to imbue his designs with a richness, heritage and texture which he feels to be lacking in much of contemporary design.

Hasan graduated from the Royal College of Art’s famed M.A. Design Products course in 2008, where he carefully listened to Jurgen Bey’s stories, and was tutored by the incredible duo of Luke Pearson and Michael Marriott.

Before studying at the RCA, Hasan spent his twenties working in London’s advertising industry.

Hasan’s graduate collection of work, exhibited at the Royal College of Art in 2008, immediately caught the attention of curators, gallerists, and collectors alike.
